Senior Financial Analyst

EdgeCore is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Finance team.  This position will report directly to the VP of Finance and perform financial planning and analysis across a broad range of projects and topics.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and update financial models using Excel and ARGUS for existing assets and prospective investments, including investment returns underwriting (IRR’s, equity multiple, etc).
  2. Create and maintain asset-level and portfolio-level cash flow projection models and pro-formas for development, re-development and operating assets.
  3. Provide analytics and investment analysis to support the senior leadership team with capital allocation and capital expenditure decision making.
  4. Conduct market research to evaluate prospective new investment opportunities or strategies including: tracking market trends, M&A, supply/ demand of inventory and competitive standing in various existing and targeted markets for both EdgeCore and its competitors.
  5. Assist in the coordination and preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  6. Generate monthly and quarterly reporting package for the Board of Directors and Investors consisting of financial statements, strategic narrative and ad-hoc forecasts for all regions.
  7. Generate variance reports comparing actual performance with budgeted and forecasted performance and identify drivers of the variances.
  8. Create and maintain financial models to analyze and forecast competitor stock and derivative performance in relation to financial standing.
  9. Perform sales operations functions including price-volume variance analyses, funnel management, and leasing commission calculation.
  10. Perform sensitivity analyses and review various leverage and joint venture structures in Excel.
  11. Work with team members in the analysis, documentation and execution of various capital transactions, including acquisitions, partnerships, financings, and development programs.
  12. Interface with internal and external parties, such as leasing/ sales brokers, the Board of Directors, operating partners, lenders/ investors, accounting teams, legal counsel, and other duties as required.
  13. Protect the organization’s private information.

Requirements

  1. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Real Estate or a similar field.
  2. 4 + years of experience in a financial or real estate development analyst role or similar professional experience.
  3. Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); exceptionally strong Excel skills are required and knowledge of ARGUS is a plus
  4. Effective writing skills and ability to present information in a compelling and concise format, as well as verbal interpersonal/ communication skills.
  5. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure setting.
  6. Must show tact, discretion, confidentiality and good judgement in handling sensitive and confidential matters and documentation; Candidate must be able to think strategically and work with data.
  7. A strong understanding of finance and ability to create financial models, reports and analysis.
  8. A team player mentality and strong learning acumen.
  9. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency, and to turn in quality work quickly, under strict time constraints.
  10. Flexibility and the desire to go above and beyond what is required of you.
  11. The ability to learn and understand software quickly.
  12. Experience in the real estate development, private equity, investment banking, or related industry will also be an advantage.
