Facility Manager

The Facility Manager (Mesa, AZ) will report to the Director of Customer Experience, lead all day-to-day activities at all data centers on EdgeCore’s Mesa, AZ campus, and serve as the operations leader on the campus representing the voice of the customer. The ideal candidate must proactively and effectively manage all building systems, processes, and people to meet EdgeCore standards and end-customer contract requirements and expectations. Subject to and working with EdgeCore’s other functional teams, the Facility Manager will be responsible for all campus and building activities, including maintenance, operations, security, building management and IT systems, customer support, and other activities necessary for the overall wellbeing of the campus and its occupants.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead business-critical operations and security activities on EdgeCore’s Mesa, AZ campus
  2. Manage the day-to-day activities of the site teams, including reporting, financial performance, building and equipment maintenance and upkeep, and campus security
  3. Perform, coordinate, and oversee the facilities team in undertaking PPM or reactive works, providing technical support and leadership to ensure maintenances are performed based on manufacturer’s recommendations and are fully documented to ensure the safety of individuals on site and optimal performance of building systems
  4. Manage and improve upon existing emergency response preparedness for excellent response and communication during an event in the building, including completion of follow-up activities that may include incident reports and timely implementation of corrective actions
  5. Manage site security activities and reporting to maintain the physical security of the building in accordance with EdgeCore’s Security Standard Operating Procedure, as well as in alignment with end-customer requirements
  6. Engage with customers as needed to ensure customer happiness, overall business transparency, and adherence to customer contractual requirements in a timely and accurate manner, including leading regular business reviews, reporting, incident management, white space implementations, and adherence to service level requirements
  7. Offer detailed and comprehensive recommendations on improvements to EdgeCore processes and appropriate measures for the success for all activities at the Mesa, AZ campus and as may relate to facility management services across the EdgeCore portfolio
  8. Manage and promote EdgeCore’s culture of honesty, transparency, and safety first

Requirements

  1. 5-7 years of leadership experience in a technical facilities position for a hyperscaler or third-party data center provider
  2. Demonstrated success leading technical data centers teams and third-party vendors through process, reporting, and documentation
  3. Strong understanding of physical security activities and industry standards in hyperscaler or third-party data center environment
  4. Excellent and proven project management skills
  5. Successful history of working with Fortune 50 and hyperscale customers, deep understanding of customer expectations and requirements, and the ability to champion the customer point of view across the company using an analytical framework and supporting data
  6. Proven relationship management skills and ability to communicate and influence stakeholders
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  8. Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and excellent time management skills
  9. Ability to work independently to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives at once
  10. Ability to travel approximately 5-10% of the time
  11. Ability to use and manage implementation of commercial and/or industrial building monitoring systems and electrical power monitoring systems (Niagara/DGLux and Schneider Ecostruxure experience is preferred)
  12. NFPA70E and OSHA30 (general industry) certifications preferred
